Mecca, Feb.02 (SANA) The Muslim World League (MWL) on Monday renewed its call for firm and decisive action to address the repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa stressed the urgent need to compel the Israeli government to fully comply with the requirements of the second phase of the peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Al-Issa emphasized that this includes an immediate and comprehensive cessation of hostilities and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The statement came a day after eight Arab and Islamic countries issued a joint condemnation of Israel’s repeated breaches of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, warning that such actions threaten regional and international efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation and alleviating humanitarian suffering in the Strip.
The ceasefire agreement entered into force on Oct. 10. The Gaza Government Media Office said in a statement on Saturday that Israeli forces have committed 1,450 violations since the agreement took effect, in a clear breach of international humanitarian law and the ceasefire terms, including the attached humanitarian protocol.
