Brussels, Jan. 30 (SANA) The European Union and Morocco have called for the swift implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which demands a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace that ends the Israeli occupation and is based on relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The statement was issued by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita following the 15th meeting of the EU-Morocco Association Council in Brussels on Thursday.
Both parties stressed the urgent need to protect civilians in Gaza and ensure the rapid, safe, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. They also underscored the importance of allowing the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to operate independently and impartially in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The communiqué further expressed support for the Jerusalem Committee’s efforts to safeguard the city’s historical identity and promote regional stability, while highlighting a shared commitment to a rules-based international order, multilateralism, and respect for international law.
