Israeli forces launched a wide-scale arrest campaign across the West Bank on Wednesday, detaining 78 Palestinians, most of them in Hebron city, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The forces stormed Wadi al-Hariya and Khirbet Qalqas south of Hebron, and the towns of Deir Samet and al-Burj to the west, arresting 15 Palestinians. In the northern Hebron town of Bayt Amer, soldiers conducted a second consecutive day of raids, searching most homes, converting many into military barracks, and carrying out property destruction under a tight siege and declaration of a closed military zone, resulting in 41 arrests.
In Nablus, troops entered neighborhoods, detained several youths outside the national hospital, raided its yard, arrested a girl in the Old City, and three young men in Beita town south of the city. Israeli forces also carried out raids in Al-Bireh, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Budrus village west of Ramallah, and Qabatiya town south of Jenin, detaining 18 Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers, protected by occupation forces, attacked Palestinians and their property in Khirbet Naba’ Ghazal al-Farsiyah in the northern Jordan Valley
