World Health Organization (WHO) reported that more than 900 patients in Gaza Strip have died due to delays in medical evacuations for treatment outside the Strip due to restrictions imposed by Israel on the movement of patients.
According to the WHO, nearly 16,500 patients are still awaiting approval to travel for treatment, including about 4,000 children who need urgent care.
“The delays in evacuating these critical patients put their lives at great risk,” the organization said in a statement, quoted by Palestinian media outlets. The WHO said it is working to increase medical evacuations of wounded patients during the ongoing ceasefire, despite restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities.
