Trump tells Israel to stop bombing Gaza as Hamas agrees to release hostages

President Donald Trump told Israel to immediately stop bombing Gaza after Hamas agreed to release hostages and some other terms in a U.S. plan to end the war

Trump said he believed Hamas had showed it was “ready for a lasting peace” and he put the onus on “Netanyahu’s government.”

“Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone; this is about long sought peace in the Middle East. “He added.

Mr. Guterres thanked Qatar and Egypt for “their invaluable mediation work” alongside the US.

Meanwhile, Egypt reiterated its appreciation for US President Trump’s efforts and his vision for achieving peace and stability in the region, and particularly his full commitment to ending the war in Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed on Friday its appreciation for Hamas’s response to U.S. President Trump’s plan to stop the war in Gaza Strip.

Hamas announced its agreement to release all Israeli captives—both living and deceased—based on the exchange framework outlined in President Trump’s plan. The group also expressed its readiness to immediately enter negotiations through mediators to discuss all the details.
