Amman, SANA-The Jordanian government signed a €30.9 million funding agreement Monday with the German government aimed at strengthening the education sector in Jordan, with a particular focus on vulnerable student populations—including thousands of Syrian refugee children.
The grant is designed to enhance the capacity of the Jordanian Ministry of Education to deliver quality education in public schools. It will support teaching and administrative staff, improve infrastructure in high-need areas, and create employment opportunities within the education sector.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Jordanian Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to ensuring quality education for all students, including non-Jordanians. He emphasized that Syrian students receive the same level of education as their Jordanian peers in public schools.
This grant is part of the ongoing development and education cooperation between Jordan and Germany. It reflects a broader effort to support refugee-hosting communities and reinforce the stability of Jordan’s formal education system.
