Guterres: International Community Must Protect Children’s Right to Safe Education

New York, SANA- UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned of the growing impact of violence against children in conflict zones, calling on the international community to safeguard their fundamental right to safe and peaceful learning

In a post on X, Guterres said: “Education is under attack, and violence against children in armed conflicts has reached unprecedented levels. No child should have to risk their life to learn

The United Nations reported in July that 85 million out of 234 million school-aged children worldwide are currently out of school due to ongoing conflicts. It stressed that such crises are no longer isolated incidents but a rising global trend threatening children’s right to education
