Armed Attack on Police Station in Western Turkey leaves two police officers dead

Ankara, SANA- Izmir province, western Turkey, witnessed a serious security incident. An armed attack on the Salih Isgoren police station in Balcova district resulted in the death of two police officers and the injury of two others.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced in a post on the X platform that the attack was carried out by a 16-year-old young man, noting that the attacker used a rifle inside the security center, resulting in the casualties.

Yerlikaya confirmed that the relevant authorities had arrested the perpetrator of the attack and had opened a comprehensive investigation into the incident, stressing that the ministry was closely monitoring the investigation.
