Norway calls on countries worldwide to recognize a Palestinian state

Oslo, SANA-Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide welcomed the United Kingdom’s announcement of its intention to recognize the State of Palestine, calling on countries around the world to take a similar step.

The minister tweeted on his account on the “X” platform: “The United Kingdom’s intention to recognize Palestine is a necessary step towards achieving the freedom, security and independence of the Palestinians”, adding: “I call on more countries to follow London’s example, so that the establishment of a free and independent Palestinian state, and thus the two-state solution, becomes a tangible reality.”

In the same context, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Tuesday that Britain will recognize the State of Palestine next September unless the Israeli government takes steps to end the “horrific situation” in Gaza, considering this recognition comes to protect the two-state solution.”
