Azerbaijan, Armenia sign peace deal under American sponsorship

9 August، 2025

Washington, SANA- Azerbaijan and Armenia signed an agreement aimed at ending decades of conflict as they were hosted by President Donald Trump at the White House.

The agreement, which was signed in the presence of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stipulates a permanent cessation of fighting and the establishment of a strategic transit corridor through the South Caucasus under American supervision, called “Trump’s Path to International Peace and Prosperity”. The agreement also includes provisions for bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, technology, border security, and infrastructure.

The Azerbaijani President described the agreement as a “historic day”, stressing that his country is moving towards a strategic partnership with the United States, and expressing his optimism about new trade and investment opportunities.

For his part, the Armenian Prime Minister said that the agreement is “very wonderful”, noting that it will open a new phase of regional peace and strengthen the cohesion between the peoples of the region.

US president described the event as “historic”, stressing that Washington will remove restrictions on defense transactions with Azerbaijan, saying that the agreement reflects the leading role of the United States in resolving international disputes.
