Germany Halts Arms Exports to Israel Amid Gaza Tensions

Stockholm, SANA-Germany stops export weapons to Israel which can be used in Gaza, announces German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

“Under these circumstances, the federal government allows for the time being no export of military equipment that may be used in the Gaza Strip”, Sweden Herald online newspaper quoted Merz as saying in a statement.

Also, in many other parts of the world, Israel’s tough new Gaza plan provokes strong reactions, as other international leaders are also reacting to Israel’s new plan to occupy Gaza.

“This measure will not do anything to end this conflict”, says Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The UN’s human rights chief Volker Türk is strongly critical, and demands that the plan be”immediately stopped”.

Sweden’s Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard shared the outrage saying that “I see with great concern the decision that Israeli has made”.

She noted that it is currently difficult to overlook what the consequences of such decision mean for the situation in Gaza.

“I have previously repeated that all attempts to annex, change or reduce Gaza’s territory would be in conflict with international law” Stenergard added.
