KSRelief provides 25,000 Doses of Vaccines to Syrian Pilgrims

Damascus, SANA-The Ministry of Health received on Saturday 25,000 doses of the quadrivalent meningitis vaccine allocated for pilgrims, provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), to vaccinate pilgrims through the Nassib border crossing.

Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Zuhair al-Qarat, said in a statement to a SANA reporter that this step comes within a humanitarian and fraternal context that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the two countries.

Dr. al-Qarat affirmed the Ministry of Health’s full commitment to providing the necessary services and care to pilgrims, and ensuring the optimal delivery and distribution of vaccines within health standards.

He thanked the King Salman Center and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continued support to the Ministry of Health.

For his part, the Supply Officer at the Ministry of Health, Mohammed al-Harrah, emphasized the importance of these vaccines, as they protect pilgrims from meningitis. He noted that the vaccine’s target group is pilgrims, in addition to special cases, including thalassemia patients and those who have undergone splenectomy.

Al-Harrah said that the vaccines are approved by the World Health Organization and will be distributed to pilgrims in all governorates according to schedules, through the Ministry of Health’s Health Care Directorate.
