Damascus, SANA- Health Minister Dr. Musaab al-Ali has held discussions with a number of resident doctors in northern Syria who have been dismissed or interrupted in their residency programs, have not joined the Syrian Board for Medical Specializations program, or lack specialization or residency since the beginning of the Syrian revolution until now. The talks focused on mechanisms to facilitate their return to work.

During the meeting held at the Ministry headquarters in Damascus Monday, Dr. al-Ali confirmed that arrangements would be made to regularize the status of these doctors and enable them to rejoin their primary specializations under the technical and administrative conditions defined by the Syrian Board.

In a separate meeting with Syrian doctors who hold certificates from the Syrian Board for Medical Specializations, which is the recognized authority in northwest Syria, an agreement was reached to formally recognize their Syrian Board certificates based on administrative conditions. Additionally, their financial affiliation would be established under the Syrian Board policies.

Dr. al-Ali also emphasized that doctors would be integrated into the Syrian Board for Medical Specializations. Residents under the Syrian Board will be monitored based on the provinces they are originally from or displaced from. Doctors will have the option to either remain in the liberated north or relocate to the directorates of the areas they were displaced from. He noted that all administrative facilitation will be provided by the Ministry to assist with their processes.
