Idleb Free Zone project implementation begins

Idleb, SANA-The General Authority for Land and Sea Ports has begun the first steps of implementing the Idleb Free Zone Project, located in the eastern part of the province at the crossroads of international roads.

The project includes an industrial and commercial zone and a modern dry port, with an area exceeding 1,115,000 square meters.

Idleb Free Zone project implementation beginsIt aims to achieve a number of development and economic objectives, most notably stimulating commercial and industrial activity in the province, creating extensive job opportunities for Idleb residents, and attracting new and promising industries.

The project also aims to attract foreign capital and investments that will contribute to the national economy’s foreign exchange, especially with the arrival of dozens of foreign investors in the province to pursue available investment opportunities.

The planned dry port represents one of the main pillars of this project, as it will provide traders, industrialists, and farmers in Idleb with the ability to directly export their agricultural and industrial products to foreign markets.

It will also allow them to import raw materials and goods from around the world without having to travel to seaports, saving time and costs and enhancing the competitiveness of national products in regional and international markets.

The project complements the Authority’s plans to develop the commercial and logistics transport system by boosting the role of domestic and international transport companies. It will also open new horizons for the tourism sector in the governorate, with the expected entry of foreign investors and businessmen who will provide the local market with their expertise and capital.
