Pakistani Ambassador Visits Bosra al-Sham

Daraa,SANA-The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Syria, Omar Khan, visited the historic city of Bosra al-Sham in Daraa and explored its ancient landmarks.

During the visit, Ambassador Khan expressed his deep joy at being among the remnants of Islamic architecture and rare archaeological sites, describing them as “unique masterpieces rarely found elsewhere in the world.”

He spent considerable time at the Monastery of Bahira the Monk and the Mosque of the Camel’s Resting Place, both of which were visited by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He wished the city continued stability and prosperity.

Abdullah al-Miqdad, head of the city council, gave a detailed presentation on Bosra’s rich history and highlighted the extensive damage inflicted on its heritage sites during the era of the former regime—particularly the citadel, Roman theater, and Bed of the King’s Daughter.

He also reviewed the ongoing efforts by humanitarian organizations to rehabilitate the city’s infrastructure and architecture, affirming Bosra al-Sham’s need for greater international support, especially since it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982.
