Tourist Groups from the United States and Europe visit Busra Al-Sham

Daraa, SANA- Tourist groups comprising 35 individuals from the United States and various European countries have recently visited the city of Busra Al-Sham in the eastern Daraa countryside to explore its historical monuments.

In statements to SANA, Gabriel Luca, director of a Romanian tourism company, emphasized the city’s significance, attributing it to the succession of civilizations that have inhabited it and the continuous efforts of relevant authorities in overseeing its rehabilitation and restoration work.

He affirmed that his company plans to promote the city throughout Europe through advertising campaigns, aiming to increase the number of visitors to the region in general, and to Busra specifically.

Dr. Karina Morris, a Swiss physician, stated that despite the prevailing conditions in the region, she was not deterred from visiting the city and enjoying the beauty of its historical buildings and archaeological sites, which blend art, literature, and religions, embodying the remarkable development of the historical eras they represent.

Fostar Lavin, a British researcher in religions, praised the warm hospitality, expressing hope for the revitalization of this “gateway to the East.”

She conveyed her admiration for the impressive amphitheater and fortress, as well as the engineering methods, which demonstrate the advanced scientific progress of the civilizations that succeeded one another in the region.

Axabe Moore, an American tour guide, considered Syria’s return to its rightful place on the global tourism map a wonderful development, given its wealth of archaeological and architectural treasures. He described it as an open-air museum due to the abundance of sites within it.

It’s worth noting that the city of Busra Al-Sham has been listed on the World Heritage List since 1981, contains over 45 archaeological sites, and is located 141 km from Damascus.
