Syrian Virtual University Tops National Collegiate Programming Final

Homs, SANA-The team “Water Melon Juice Slayer” from the Syrian Virtual University claimed first place at the 15th Syrian Collegiate Programming Contest (SCPC 15), held at the University of Homs. The event featured 78 teams from 22 public and private universities across Syria.

Second place went to “Moz on Tree” from the University of Homs, while “Guess The Imposter” from the University of Aleppo secured third. The five-hour contest followed international programming standards.

The closing ceremony included a documentary on the event’s organization and honored sponsors. Regional representative Jaafar Al-Khair highlighted the contest’s role in preparing students for global competition.

President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen described the event as a platform for creativity and teamwork. Muannad Nahal, from the winning team, credited their success to months of intensive group training.

Thirteen Syrian teams have qualified for the upcoming Arab and African Collegiate Programming Contest, scheduled to take place in Egypt.
