Damascus, SANA- Ministries of Transport and Tourism organized a cultural evening entitled “Memories of Hejaz” as part of the 62nd Damascus International Fair.
During that, Irish historian, Leon Macaron, reviewed the history Hejaz Railway that connects Damascus to Medina since it has been established, as one of the most prominent transportation achievements of the early 20th century.
Hejaz Railway General foundation confirmed that the evening comes as a part of a national plan to revive this historical memory and preserve it as part of Syria’s national and cultural identity.
The event was organized by an official attendance that reflects the interest in revitalizing this heritage, both culturally and touristically.
