Education Ministry: We held meetings with international organizations to determine schools’ needs

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Education Nazir al-Qadri confirmed on Saturday that several meetings were held over the past three months with local and international organizations working in the field of education to determine schools’ needs.

Al-Qadri articulated that the organizations that we met with were UNESCO, UNICEF, and the International Education Foundation, with the aim of identifying the needs of schools, students and identifying mechanisms to enhance and develop the educational process in the country.

“We have been working on census and analysis of data available in the sub-directorates in the provinces, such as the number of students, teachers, and schools, as well as their needs in terms of infrastructure and educational resources.” Minister al-Qadri said in a statement published on the ministry’s Telegram channel.

Al-Qadri concluded by saying that the needs of 797 schools across all provinces were assessed in cooperation with engineering teams and operating organizations, he also noted that 230 schools across several provinces were renovated and rehabilitated.
