Damascus, SANA- Finance Minister Mohammad Abazid discussed with the German Special envoy to Syria, Stefan Schneck, ways of cooperation between Syria and Germany in the financial and banking sectors, and prospects for its development.
During the meeting held on Tuesday at the ministry building, Minister Abazid stressed the importance of working to develop the financial and banking sector in Syria, to improve its performance and level of services in cooperation with all countries supporting the new Syria, and to benefit from their expertise and progress in this field, appreciating Germany’s supportive stances towards Syria and its people during the years of the revolution.
The German envoy stressed that his country will continue to work to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, and is keen to improve relations and cooperation with it.
He noted that Germany stood by the Syrians in their revolution that resulted in victory and the beginning of a new era, and that there are about a million Syrian-Germans seeking to contribute to building the new Syria.
