Venezuela signs oil deals with U.S. firms
Venezuela has signed oil‑production deals with two U.S. companies, signaling a recovery in relations with Washington.

Caracas, May 1 (SANA)     Venezuela has signed agreements with two American companies to boost oil production, a step it says reflects improved relations with the United States after the removal of former president Nicolás Maduro.

According to Agence France‑Presse, the companies Hunt Overseas Oil Company and Crossover Energy will operate in the oil‑rich Orinoco Belt, at a time when global markets are facing supply disruptions and higher prices.

The Venezuelan government of interim President Delcy Rodríguez, said the agreements represented a “convergence of interests” between the two countries and pledged to build solid foundations for long‑term ties between Venezuela and the United States.

The contracts come as the first direct commercial flight between the United States and Venezuela in seven years took off on Thursday from Miami to Caracas, underlining the gradual normalization of travel and economic links between the two sides.
