Damascus, March 31 (SANA) – Syrian and Jordanian officials discussed steps to expand trade and industrial cooperation ahead of a Syrian industry exhibition scheduled to open in Amman in May.
Mohammad Ayman al-Molawi, head of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry, met Jordan’s ambassador to Damascus, Sufyan al-Qudah, to review preparations for the Syriex exhibition, which will showcase Syrian manufacturers in sectors including textiles, food processing, engineering and chemicals.
The event, organized in cooperation with the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, is aimed at promoting Syrian products and helping local companies access new export markets.
The two sides also discussed measures to ease the movement of goods and improve trade flows between the two countries, building on earlier talks held in January.

Al-Qudah said Jordan supports efforts to facilitate the movement of traders and industrialists and strengthen bilateral trade, while al-Molawi said closer economic cooperation could build on longstanding ties between the two countries.
The exhibition is scheduled to begin in Amman on May 21 and run for six days.
