Amman, Feb. 17 (SANA) Syrian and Jordanian industry representatives met in Amman to discuss expanding cooperation aimed at strengthening women’s participation in the industrial sector and promoting bilateral economic ties.
The talks brought together Wafaa Abu Labdeh, a board member of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry and head of the Syrian Women Industrialists Committee, and Reem Al-Baghdadi, vice president of the Women Industrialists Council at the Amman Chamber of Industry, along with other council members.

Participants discussed support for women-led industrial projects, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, and explored ways to improve access to Syrian and Jordanian markets to boost trade.
The meeting also focused on training and skills development through joint workshops and professional exchanges, as well as facilitating participation in trade fairs and economic events to expand export opportunities and strengthen business networks.
The two sides agreed to prepare a draft memorandum of understanding outlining areas of cooperation between businesswomen in Damascus and Amman, including mechanisms for coordination and information-sharing.
The talks form part of broader efforts by industry bodies to enhance Arab industrial cooperation and promote women’s economic participation in productive sectors.
