Tartous, Feb. 17 (SANA) The “Ramadan Brings Us Together” shopping festival opened on Monday evening at the Old Hall on Tartous’ seaside corniche, bringing together more than 40 companies and attracting large crowds.
Organizers said the event, held ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, offers a wide range of food and household products at prices discounted from those in local markets.
Shadi Halima, head of Tartous City Council, told SANA the festival provides families with essential Ramadan supplies while helping stimulate the local economy.
Ahmad Nabhan, chairman of the Laila Foundation for Organizing Exhibitions, Conferences and International Festivals, said participating companies are offering discounts of between 30 and 40 per cent, along with special promotions and gifts, to ease financial pressure on residents.
Abdul Rahman Koueifi, executive director of one of the participating food companies, said some products are discounted by up to 50 per cent without compromising quality. Visitors welcomed the festival as an opportunity to purchase goods at more affordable prices amid rising living costs.
The festival runs daily until Feb. 28 and includes promotional activities alongside sales.
