Damascus, Feb.4 (SANA) Alaa Omar Al-Ali, Head of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce, met with Italy’s Ambassador to Damascus, Stefano Ravagnan, to discuss ways of boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries and building strategic partnerships to advance bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting on Wednesday, both sides stressed the importance of establishing a Syrian-Italian Business Council and elevating economic relations to broader horizons that meet the aspirations of both parties. They also affirmed Syria’s participation in the Arab-Italian Economic Forum scheduled to take place in Milan on 31 March 2026.
The two sides reviewed opportunities for cooperation in vocational education and linking training to labour market needs, in a way that supports economic recovery efforts and promotes Syrian exports and products.
