Damascus, Dec. 17 (SANA) Officials from the Syrian Federation of Chambers of Commerce met Tuesday with Herwig Neuper, Commercial Counselor at the Austrian Embassy in Amman, and Akram Yazigi, Economic Counselor at the Austrian Embassy in Damascus, to discuss strengthening economic and investment relations between Syria and Austria.
At the meeting, held at the Federation’s headquarters, Anas al-Bou, Advisor to the Federation’s President, focused on increasing the presence of Austrian businesses in Syria. He emphasized that expanding Austrian involvement in various industrial and commercial sectors would benefit Syrian merchants by providing access to high-quality Austrian products and services, while also boosting bilateral trade.
The Austrian delegation praised the Federation’s efforts to attract Austrian investors to the Syrian market. The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize a Syrian-Austrian economic forum in Vienna next year.
Additionally, the delegation revealed that Austrian Airlines is finalizing an agreement to operate direct flights between Vienna and Damascus. The flights will facilitate travel for business leaders and investors, further encouraging investment in Syria
