Kuwait, Dec. 14 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Energy, Mohammed al-Bashir, participated in the Council of Ministers meetings of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) on Sunday in Kuwait, alongside energy and oil ministers from member states.

The meetings focused on strengthening Arab cooperation in oil, gas, and energy, as well as reviewing periodic reports from the organization’s General Secretariat. Discussions also explored ways to enhance the organization’s work and address regional and global challenges in the energy sector.
The ministers exchanged views on the prospects of joint Arab action in the energy sector, emphasizing the importance of coordination to address challenges and enhance integration among member states.
Syria’s participation in the OAPEC Council of Ministers meetings marks its return to an active role in specialized Arab organizations following liberation. It also underscores Syria’s commitment to strengthening energy sector cooperation with Arab partners, contributing to economic development and shared interests.
