Damascus, Dec. 4 (SANA) The first Syrian–Korean economic forum opened in Damascus, organized in cooperation with Syria’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and the Korea Trade–Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
The forum, opened on Thursday, aims to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in reconstruction, develop new trade partnerships, and promote the exchange of expertise.
Minister of Economy and Industry Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, speaking at the event, said that advanced industries, technology transfer, renewable energy, smart infrastructure, education, training, and capacity-building are key areas that could form the basis of a strategic partnership between Syria and Korea.
The minister added that Syria is working to stabilize the economy, improve the legislative environment, and support productive sectors so the national economy becomes more export-capable and more open to global markets.
