Barnieh:latest US measures have Widespread positive impacts on Syrian industry

Damascus-SANA -Minister of Finance Mohamed Yisr Barnieh asserted the importance of the two steps taken by the American administration lately towards Syria, adding that they will have positive impact on Syrian industry, manufacturing and banks.

The minister said that the first step is represented by the US treasury repealing the decisions and penalties which were imposed by previous American presidents since 2004 due to imposing emergency state then, and this step comes as a fulfillment to the previous decision taken by the American president Donald Trump, by which he lifted emergency state.

Barnieh added on his Facebook page that the other step is the US Department of Commerce lifting restrictions on US exports or reexporting goods, services or American techniques (except military ones) to Syria, speeding and facilitating granting licenses.

Minister of Finance considered access to the American technology is to be extremely influential, as this technology is used in most industries and software. Consequently, this will have broad positive effects that will advance Syrian industry and the Syrian financial and banking sector by leveraging the modern financial technologies needed by Syrian financial and banking institutions and systems.
