Jeddah, SANA-Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar affirmed that relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia are entering a new phase toward a solid economic partnership, based on mutual interests and a shared desire to enhance bilateral cooperation.
This came during a meeting held on Wednesday by Minister al-Shaar with several businessmen and investors in the Jeddah city, concluding an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The visit focused on ways to boost economic relations and expand investment and trade exchange between the two countries.
The minister highlighted the importance of leveraging the historical and cultural ties between the two nations, stressing that these relations form a strong foundation for establishing strategic partnerships in vital sectors such as industry, agriculture, technology, and services.
Minister al-Shaar also met members of the Chamber of Commerce in Mecca, as they discussed support for small and medium-sized enterprises and reviewed future investment projects that would enhance economic integration between Syria and Saudi Arabia.
He said that the current phase requires practical steps to activate partnerships between the public and private sectors, pointing to the opportunities available to Saudi investors in reconstruction projects and economically viable activities within Syria.
For their part, Saudi businessmen and members of the chambers of commerce welcomed the boosting of economic relations with Syria, affirming that the Saudi private sector views the Syrian market as a promising and strategic partner in the coming phase.
They emphasized that the historical and fraternal ties between the two peoples strongly support this direction.
