Damascus, Mar. 31 (SANA) A charity art exhibition titled “With Art, We Draw a Smile” opened Monday, featuring works donated by artists to raise funds for children undergoing cancer treatment, according to organizers.
The exhibition, held at Art House Gallery, features 30 artworks created by 18 artists, including paintings and digital pieces inspired in part by words and expressions from children supported by the Basma Association.


The collection reflects a range of artistic styles, from expressive and realistic works to portrait-based pieces, offering visitors a diverse visual experience while conveying themes of resilience and hope.
Organizers said the initiative is entirely volunteer-driven, with all artworks donated and proceeds directed toward funding treatment and care for children with cancer.
The exhibition also includes works collected over previous years, including contributions from deceased artists, highlighting continued artistic solidarity with the cause.
Sculptor and art critic Ghazi Ana said the exhibition aims to “bring a smile to children with cancer,” noting that combining works from different periods and artists creates both artistic and humanitarian value.
Basma Association Chairperson said the exhibition seeks to raise funds for treatment, adding that all displayed works have been donated and that proceeds will fully support the association’s programs.


She noted that some artworks were inspired directly by the children’s own words, giving them a distinct emotional dimension.

Basma Association which marks is a Syrian association that has 20 years of providing medical and psychological support to children with cancer.
The exhibition runs daily until April 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with organizers inviting the public to attend and contribute to the initiative.
