Damascus, Jan. 5 (SANA) The “Shushi” Choir of the Armenian Orthodox Archbishopric in Damascus held a Christmas musical evening entitled “Nativity Annunciation” at Our Lady Church, marking Christmas celebrations according to the Eastern calendar and reflecting Damascus’s cultural diversity.
The evening was led by Archbishop Armash Nalbandian, accompanied by organists Krikor Der Bedrosian and Haida Kedrian. The choir performed Christmas hymns in four languages -Arabic, Armenian, French, and English highlighting the richness of religious and cultural heritage.
In statements to SANA, participants noted the multilingual performance reflects the harmony of Syrian society and the coexistence of cultures and languages.
The “Shushi” Choir, affiliated with the Armenian Orthodox Archbishopric in Damascus, regularly participates in religious and cultural events, particularly during major Christian holidays. It remains an integral part of Armenian cultural life in Syria.
