Shamkhani : Iran determined to its unlimited support to Syria

Tehran, SANA-Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed on Tuesday with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani the latest developments in Syria and the region and means to enhance bilateral cooperation in the political and economic fields.

During the meeting, Khamis briefed Shamkhani on the latest field developments in Syria and the victories over the Takfiri terrorist groups, affirming the necessity of continuing the political measures to overcome the crisis.

“Reaching a permanent solution to the crisis in Syria, restoring security and stability is subject to a change in the stances of some countries which support terrorism, away from their propagandas that claim combating ISIS terrorist organization,” Prime Minister said.

He hailed the Iranian role in supporting Syrian people and government, pointing out that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all sectors offers a suitable environment for achieving more of hoped-for objects.

In turn, Shamkhani affirmed that Iran supports and welcomes the political initiatives that meet the real demands of the Syrian people, adding that “continuing the comprehensive efforts to liberate all the areas which come under terrorists’ control and to restore stability and security to Syria, and launching the Syrian-Syrian dialogue in order to reach a national concordance, all that guarantees the continuous successes in dealing with the current crisis in Syria.”

He warned against the consequences of allowing the enemy to exploit the cessation of hostilities agreement and the political dialogue to revive the terrorist groups and get back their human, financial and military power.

“Iran welcomes all political initiatives that adopt the principle of defending Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence,” Shamkhani affirmed.

Syrian, Iranian joint Political Committee discuss political and economic cooperation

Later, Syrian, Iranian joint Political Committee, headed by Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad and the Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari, held its Periodic meeting in the Iranian Foreign Ministry building,.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region, mainly the victories which were achieved by the Syrian Arab Army and its Allies against terrorists and liberating Aleppo city.

They also discussed preparations for Syrian- Syrian dialogue in Astana, scheduled on January 23, affirming the importance of cooperation and coordination in the political and economic fields.

Premier Khamis, Iran’s Energy Minister discuss enhancing cooperation in energy field

Earlier, , Premier Khamis discussed with Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Jet Jian means to develop cooperation between the two countries in the energy field.

The two sides discussed the optimum utilization of the available possibilities of Iranian side in the energy field to contribute to meeting the needs of the Syrian side from energy.

In turn, Primer Khamis called on the Iranian companies to help reconstruct the country.

For his part, Minister Jian affirmed the Iranian government’s readiness to invest in the power sector in Syria and working to encourage the private and public Iranian companies  to help in this field , calling for signing a long-term agreement in power sector between Syria and Iran.

Khamis meets governor of Central Bank of Iran

Prime Minister Khamis also discussed with Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif means of removing all the obstacles related to the former credit line.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to charge Commercial Bank of Syria and the Iranian Exports Development Bank with following up measures of implementing the new credit line and making use of it in a way to meet the demands of the Syrian people.

Premier meets President of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture

In the same context, Premier Khamis discussed with President of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Ghulam Hussein Shafie means of carrying out all joint projects in the vital, service, industrial and production sectors.

Shafie said “We have to think about the way of reconstructing Syria as Iran possesses points of power in the engineering and vocational sides, as well as in the fields of energy, oil and gas in order to push trade exchange between the two countries into advanced levels.”
