Thursday weather forecast: Temperatures to drop, rainfalls expected

Damascus, SANA – The country is still affected by a low air pressure accompanied by a wet air mass as the temperatures will drop to become around average and various amounts of rainfalls were registered in different provinces over the past 24 hours, the heaviest of which in Lattakia coastal province 88,4 mm.

In other provinces, the rainfalls were registered as follows: Damascus Countryside 32,5 mm, Sweida 4 mm, Daraa 3 mm, Quneitra 10mm, Homs 31mm, Hama 26mm Tartous 36,5mm, Aleppo 25 mm and Hasaka 28 mm.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Thursday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy to rainy and the rainfalls will be accompanied by thunder sometimes in most areas.

The wind will be westerly to southwesterly with a moderate speed and active gusts whose speed exceeds 50km per hour and the sea waves will be medium to high in height.

On Friday, no noticeable change in the weather conditions will be witnessed while the temperatures will rise on Saturday, yet they will remain near average and the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general.

The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 14/7, Daraa 15/6, Homs 13/5, Lattakia 17/4, Aleppo 12/5 and Deir Ezzor 14/5.
