The Cabinet approves draft counterterrorism law

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet approved on Tuesday the draft law on counterterrorism that aims at strengthening legislative rules to contribute to boosting the citizens’ security and protecting society against the dangerous impacts of terrorism.

The Cabinet also decided to form a central working group of the ministries of Finance, Higher Education, Economy and Foreign Trade, Information and Administrative Development, the Planning and International Cooperation Commission, the General Secretariat at the Cabinet, the Consultative Council and the Central Bank of Syria to make suggestions and proposals on making best use of the funds allocated to public parties to boost the production and economic process.

With the aim of enhancing the economic relations with Lebanon, the Cabinet allowed banana imports from Lebanon and citrus fruit exports to it in return in the period between November 1st, 2016 and April 2017.
