123 gunmen along with their families evacuated from al-Waer neighborhood in Homs

Homs, SANA-123 gunmen and 157 members of their families have been evacuated on Thursday from al-Waer neighborhood in Homs in the framework of implementing the third stage of the settlement agreement in the neighborhood.

The agreement aims to evacuate all gunmen and weapons from al-Waer neighborhood in a step towards the return of all the governmental institutions to it.

Supervising the implementation of the agreement, Homs Governor Talal Barazi said that the gunmen and their families have been transported to al-Dar al-Kabira to the north of Homs city, adding that part of the heavy weapons in the neighborhood were turned in to the Syrian state.

Al-Barazi affirmed that the national reconciliations are continuing where a meeting was held yesterday with a delegation from the city of al-Rastan, during which emphasis was put on the expulsion of strangers and engaging in the reconstruction process despite the attempt of terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra to negatively impact the reconciliation to prevent it happening.

He said that the inter-Syrian dialogue without any interference will lead to signing many agreements to restore peace and security to many areas in the implantation of the governmental work for supporting the local reconciliations, the return of the displaced and restoring security and stability.

The Governor welcomed the participation of the Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center in activating the agreement of al-Waer neighborhood and supporting the inter-Syrian dialogue, in addition to settling the status of scores of gunmen according to the amnesty decree No. 15 for the year 2016.

Barazi added that the absence of the UN representatives from the reconciliations and from supporting the inter-Syrian dialogue is unconstructive.

He reiterated the call upon all gunmen to benefit from the amnesty decree and to contribute to rebuilding the homeland.

In turn, representative of Russian Coordination Center at Hmeimim said that efforts continue in cooperation with the Syrian government in order to restore safety to al-Waer neighborhood and to settle the status of its people.
