The Presidency denies talk ascribed to President al-Assad by some media

Damascus, SANA – The Presidency denied statements some media outlets claim that President Bashar al-Assad made during his recent meeting with members of the General Secretariat of the Arab and Islamic Gathering for Supporting the Resistance.

“We again reaffirm that any talk or statements or piece of news related to President al-Assad should not have the President’s guests or visitors as their reporting source.

“Any such news items get officially issued by the Presidency office or posted on its [social media] accounts, otherwise it is categorically untrue,” said the Presidency on its Facebook account on Friday.

It called for media outlets to be more professional and credible and seek accuracy in quoting President al-Assad’s talk and not rely on what his visitors report.
