The army kills scores of ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in different provinces-VIDEO

Provinces, SANA- Units of the army and armed forces on Wednesday continued combating terrorism, ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations, inflicting losses upon them in personnel and equipment.

Homs

In the countryside of the central province of Homs, army units clashed with a terrorist group of ISIS terrorist organization in the vicinity of al-Bardeh village and al-Bayarat area in the eastern countryside of Homs province, military source told SANA on Wednesday.

The clashes resulted in killing scores of ISIS members and destroying a number of their vehicles some of which were equipped with machineguns.

Hama, Idleb 

A military source has affirmed that 30 terrorists from “Jund al-Aqsa” and “Jabhat al-Nusra” were killed in army’s operations against their dens in Hama and Idleb countryside.

Lattakia

Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, restored stability and security to Barza al-Tahtani village, Katef al-Zaitona, Daher Sando, Tal Ghweirat and Jabal Abu Ali in the northeast countryside of Lattakia.

Aleppo

Meanwhile, in the northern province of the Aleppo, army continued its operations against the fortified positions and gatherings of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in Khanaser area and number of neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its countryside.

Army units, in cooperation with popular defsene groups, destroyed gatherings of ISIS in Rasm al-Nafel village, Burj al-Zaror and the vicinity of khanaser town in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.

The source added that terrorist organisations’ fortified sites and dens were destroyed in al-Rashiden, Bustan al-Qassr and al-Shaar neighborhoods of Aleppo city due to army’s operations in those neighborhoods.

Damascus Countryside 

The Army achieved new progress in hunting terrorists affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra and expanded its control in Darayya city in the western Ghouta in Damascus Countryside.

A field commander said in a statement to reporters that army units carried out during the last 24 hours a military operation in which they established control over an area 2 kilometers long and 800 meters wide to the south of Darayya city.

The Commander added that this advance is besieging the members of terrorist organizations within an area that does not exceed one third of the city, thus contributing to enhance the security of Sahnaya town and Ashrafiyat Sahnaya and preventing terrorists from targeting the residential neighborhoods with shells and sniper fire.

He noted that the army’s progress in Darayya city is related to making an infiltration into the area which terrorists are fortified inside after they planted landmines and explosive devices across the city, stressing that protecting the lives of soldiers is a priority in all military plans as well as restoring stability and security to the city of Darayya and all Syrian lands.

For his part, Commander of the military operation which was carried out on Tuesday in the city of Darayya, said that after separating Darayya city from al- Moadamieh and cutting off the supply routes of terrorist organizations, the army members advanced and were able to breach the terrorists’ defenses and restore control over many of building blocks to the south of Darayya city.

The army discovered an extensive network of tunnels stretched for hundreds meters and equipped with ventilation and lighting instruments, the commander said.

He confirmed that all terrorists inside the city of Darayya are affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra.

For their part, army members said that they fought fierce house-to-house battles with terrorists and killed many of them while the rest of terrorists fled away and now they are besieged inside small sites in the city.

They expressed their determination to continue their tasks till eliminating terrorism in the city.
