Syria beats Singapore, reserves place in AFC Asian Cup finals

Singapore, SANA- Syria’s national football team beat Singapore 2-1 in the match that they played in Singapore within the joint qualifications for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

With this win, Syria’s team reserved a place in the Asian Cup third round and is one step closer to qualifying for the final round of qualifications for the World Cup after raising its points to 15 in the Group E, coming in second place behind Japan which is first with 16 points, while Singapore came third with 10 points, Afghanistan came fourth with 6 points, and Cambodia came last.

Syria’s team played one of its best matches in the qualifications stage so far, dominating the match from its beginning till the end.

Syria’s team will play two more matches, the first of which is against Cambodia and the second is with the Japanese team in Japan.

The chances are good for Syria’s team to reach the final qualifications for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
