Hollande and Cameron stress need of activating political process in Syria

London, SANA – France and Britain stressed on Tuesday the necessity of activating the political process in Syria, during a meeting between French President Francois Hollande and British Premier David Cameron held in Britain.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source at the French presidency was quoted by the AFP as saying Hollande and Cameron agreed on the need to activate the political process and showed desire to work together regarding the situation in Syria.

The source added that the two sides held in-depth and detailed discussions and reviewed their views, mainly with regard to Syria and Libya.

The British prime minister’s office said in a statement that Cameron and Hollande agreed that a great deal of responding to the refugee crisis should be in finding a solution to the crisis in Syria.

Yesterday, France said it will drop some of the conditions for any inter-Syrian dialogue to solve the crisis in Syria, including President Bashar al-Assad’s departure.
