Damascus, SANA- Minister of Agriculture Ahmed al-Qadiri discussed on Tuesday with president of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) Marwan Abdelhamid, chairman of the Arab Agricultural Engineers Union (AAEU) Abdul Salam Dabbagh and AAEU Secretary General Yehia Bakhour means of supporting the food security to meet the needs of the Syrian citizens and finding new export markets for the Syrian agricultural productions.
Al-Qadiri asserted that the ministry has paid great attention to the agriculture sector for being one of the elements of steadfastness in light of the current circumstances in Syria, clarifying that the production is continuous and distinguished with its adaption to the exceptional conditions.
He pointed out that the ministry seeks to open new export markets with the friendly countries which stand by Syria.
For his part, Abdelhamid affirmed that Syria’s self- sufficiency has made it stronger and more immune, calling for paying special attention to the agriculture sector because it contributes to meeting the Syrians ‘food security requirements and needs .”
