Bangkok, SANA – Syrian athlete Majd-Eddin Ghazal won on Thursday the gold medal in the high jump competition in the second leg of Asian Athletics Grand Prix Series held in Thailand.

Ghazal registered 229 cm, securing qualification for the World Championships in Athletics due to be held in China next August and the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil 2016.

Ghazal won the silver medal in the first leg of the Series last Monday registering 226 cm.
