The Cabinet approves 2023 state general budget set at SYP 16,550 billion

Damascus, SANA-The Cabinet approved Tuesday the draft of state general budget for 2022/2023.

The draft set the budget at SYP 16,550 billion, with an increase of 3,225 billion compared to the 2022 budget.

The budget approbations were distributed to 13,550 billion for running expenditures and 3,000 billion for investment expenditures, with 4,927 billion being allocated for social subsidy and 2,114 billion for salaries, wages and compensations, exceeding the 2022 budget by 33%.

Later, the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, discussed a number of issues which are related to developmental and service situation in the country.
