Three people fatally shot, 3 injured at a mall in US state of Indiana

Washington, SANA- Three people were killed and three others were wounded when a person opened fire at a shopping mall in the US state of Indiana, nearly two weeks after seven people were killed and 30 others were wounded when a gunman opened fire during a festive parade in a Chicago suburb.

“We experienced a mass shooting last night at Greenwood Park Mall and so far we have three fatalities and three others injured,” Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers said in a statement today, noting that the shooter was shot dead by an armed individual.

The attack is the latest in a series of armed violence in the United States, where the about 40,000 people die of gun-related wounds a year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
