Hungary considers paying for gas supplies from Russia in rubles

Budapest, SANA- Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto affirmed that Hungary is working on a technical solution to the issue of paying for Russian gas supplies in rubles, noting that energy supplies in Hungary were and will remain safe”.

RT website quoted Szijjarto as saying during a joint press conference with his Serbian counterpart that his country, Hungary, will fulfill its commitment to pay to Gazprom company at the end of next May 2022.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heeger had announced that he did not rule out that his country would have to buy natural gas from Russia in rubles, after President Vladimir Putin issued a decree in this regard.
