Indian Embassy in Damascus celebrates the 72th anniversary of the Constitution

Damascus, SANA- The Indian Embassy in Damascus celebrated the 72th anniversary of India’s Constitution Day, which falls on the 26th of November of each year.

Indian Ambassador in Damascus Mahender Singh Kanyal told SANA that the Indian constitution is the highest legislation after the independence of India from the British occupation, since it considers India as an independent, sovereign state in the world, and defines the basic political principles, rights, and duties.

Regarding the Syrian-Indian relations, the Indian Ambassador affirmed that India and Syria have historical and brotherly ties in all political, economic, cultural, and academic fields.

For his part, Chairman of the Syrian UN Association, George Jabbour underlined the importance of India’s participation in its celebration of Constitution Day to confirm the distinguished relations between the two countries.
