Moscow: OPCW report about Syria politicized

Moscow, SANA-Moscow stressed that the report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) about allegations of using chemical weapon in Syria is politicized, warning of a paralysis in the OPCW work because of policies of western countries.

“The Western states have actively worked during the OPCW Executive council round, between July 7 and 9, to adopt the first report of the investigation and Identification team related to incidents of Latamneh in March 2017 which accuses the Syrian army of using chemical weapons,” RT quoted Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova as saying in a statement.

She added that Moscow has repeatedly showed, through facts,  that the report is politicized, biased and incorrect.

Zakharov stressed that the investigation team that was formed by an initiative of the US is an illegal body dominated by Western countries, which represents a Geopolitical project that aim at undermining the Syrian government stances.

The Russian spokeswoman concluded by saying “It’s necessary for the OPCW not to remain a subject to countries that impose their own narrow and tendentious agenda,” adding that the OPCW can find itself paralyzed in case it won’t put an end to the measures of those countries.
