Nasrallah: Fighting remnants of Daesh in Syria and Iraq will continue

Beirut, SANA – Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said that the battle against Daesh nears its end and will continue with the same enthusiasm till full eradication of this terrorist organization, underlining the importance of the liberation of al-Boukamal which signals the collapse of the Daesh terrorist organization’s scheme in the region.

Nasrallah, in a televised speech on the latest developments in the region, added that the liberation of al-Boukamal from Daesh, the meeting of Syrian and Iraqi forces and the victories achieved in Aleppo, Deir Ezzor and al-Mayadeen have all fortified Syria’s territorial unity and foiled schemes to divide the country.

He added that the U.S. has done its best to help Daesh terrorists in al-Boukamal and secured an aerial coverage for them so they were able to move openly, and moreover the American Air Force did not target them, rather it provided them with accurate information about the forces heading to the city, not to mention waging electronic warfare against forces that were fighting to liberate al-Boukamal.

The U.S. forces also provided air transfer for Daesh commanders and facilitated their escape to areas held by the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces, he said.

Nasrallah said that the liberation of the last Iraqi city from Daesh and the arrival of Iraqi forces to the Syrian borders and al-Qaem border crossing indicate the end of Daesh terrorist organization as a military structure and we are all await for the declaration of final victory over Daesh in Iraq.
