Syria, Russia to enhance economic relations

Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed on Monday with a delegation of Russian Duma Council, headed by Dmitry Sablin, the solid ties which connect Syria and Russia and the standing bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism in addition to the coordination in the economic, trade and scientific domains.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Khamis said the Syrian people appreciate the stances and policies adopted by Russia in boosting the factors of Syria steadfastness against the terrorist war which tries to target its sovereignty.

He added that Syria is keen to develop relations with Russia on all levels, particularly in economy to promote it to the level of political ties, affirming that Syria is approaching the phase of recovery due to the army’s victories.

Khamis called on the Russian economic activities and companies to make use of the legislations and facilitations offered by the Syria government that encourage investments in the country, pointing out that priority will be given to the friendly countries that stood by Syria in the war against terrorism.

Sablin, for his part, congratulated the Syrian people for the remarkable victories gained by the army in the battle against terrorism, affirming his country’s keenness to enhance economic ties with Syria through boosting investments and trade between the two states.
