Homs Governor stresses necessity of ICRC role in delivering humanitarian aid

Homs, SANA – Governor of Homs, Talal al-Barazi, stressed the necessity of the international organizations to be aware of the danger of terrorism threatening the region and its repercussions on the life of peoples.

Meeting Deputy Head of the International Commission for the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Syria, Ikhtiar Aslan Adanov, the governor pointed out to the importance of increasing the active role of the ICRC and the plans for delivering humanitarian aid in Syria, hailing the important role of such organizations and cooperation with the Syrian government to ease the ongoing crisis in Syria.

He highlighted the shortage of humanitarian aid amounts which reached in some months to more than 40%.

He stressed that the Syrian government has exerted enormous efforts to improve the health situation in Homs province which as it improved currently by 20%.

The governor talked about the national reconciliations taking place in the province and the continued process of settling the situation of several persons in many areas in Homs.

For his part, Adanov pointed out that work is underway to open an ICRC office in Homs to speed up the work process.

He stressed the importance of national reconciliations taking place in Homs and several other areas in Syria as they ease the work of humanitarian organizations and the suffering of the Syrian people.
